When Is It Just One Of Those Days

Do you give yourself a hard time when you have a day when you don’t feel okay?

You know, those days when you feel sad, tired, uncreative or just plain exhausted? There’s nothing you can put your finger on … you’re just having one of those days

I have those days too and I don’t like them any more than you probably do. We’re so used to ‘doing’ that when these days happen, we want to just keep pushing through and achieve what’s feels necessary for the day.

I have however, learned to accept them as a part of life.

When I’m having one of those days, I choose to be by myself. I don’t want to talk to anyone. Not because I’m feeling down or upset, not to punish anyone else, and not because I want to do some inner healing work, but just because I need space for myself.

In those moments it’s about just being. I don’t feel lonely as I watch the sea or the trees and plants waving their branches in the wind … I feel good. I can walk and feel the breeze on my face, I can smell the ocean in my nostrils, I am aware of my feet on the ground and I can breathe deeply.

The solitude feels cleansing. Like a deep cleansing on all levels.

Fasting from food gives my body a chance to detox and removing myself from other people’s energy allows cleansing to occur on an emotional, mental and spiritual level too.

I take myself away from the busyness of my life and let go of the ‘must’, ‘have to’, and any guilt about ‘not doing’ and just allow myself to be. I am able to connect deeply with myself in a way that the busyness, obligations, my ‘to-do list’ and other people’s agenda doesn’t allow for.

And by stepping away from ‘working on’ something or someone, including myself, it opens the portal to allow the magic that is waiting to come to life. There is so many wonderful things to experience and understand but when we’re pushing through our daily lives, the voice of all we ‘have’ to do is too loud for us to hear the whisper of our intuition. It’s too chaotic for us to hear our soul speaking.

And so when these days happen, I remind myself that they are a gift. They are giving me permission to step away and just be. And it feels wonderful!

Suddenly all the urgency of life melts away and I am able to see the bigger picture. I am able to reconnect with my true self and follow my soul’s blueprint. To follow my soul’s true path.

So next time you find yourself having ‘one of those days’, take a moment to remember the gift of being. Give yourself permission to step away from all that consumes you and into the flow of life. Take the time to reconnect with yourself and enable a deep cleansing to occur.

I promise you will feel wonderful!
